Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) was established on 1 April 1998 by the Government of Karnataka under the provisions of the Visvesvaraya Technological University Act, 1994. Headquartered in Belagavi, Karnataka, VTU was created to drive the planned and sustainable development of technical education in the state, aligning with both state and national policies.
