Established by the State Legislature in 1992 and operational since June 1, 1996, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is a state public university dedicated to promoting accessible, high-quality education through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system. Born out of the renowned University of Mysore, KSOU is a pioneering institution that has been integral in fulfilling the national objectives of higher education—ACCESS, EQUITY, QUALITY, AFFORDABILITY, and ACCOUNTABILITY.
