History of IIM Sirmaur

IIM Sirmaur, a relatively new addition to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management, was established in 2015. The institution marked a significant milestone when it commenced its first batch of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in management on September 4, 2015.

In its early years, IIM Sirmaur embarked on its journey with the valuable guidance and mentorship of the esteemed Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. This collaborative effort paved the way for the institute to grow and develop into a center of excellence in management education.

CAMPUS:

Temporary Campus: IIM Sirmaur currently operates from its temporary campus, located at the Himachal Institute of Technology in Paonta Sahib, Sirmaur. Paonta Sahib is an industrial town situated in the southern part of the Sirmaur district. The temporary campus benefits from its well-connected location, with easy access to major cities like Dehradun, Chandigarh, Shimla, and Delhi. It is traversed by National Highway 7, making transportation convenient for students and faculty.

Future Permanent Campus: The institute's plans for a permanent campus are underway, with the acquisition of a sprawling 200-acre land in Dhaula Kuan. Construction of the permanent campus commenced on August 4, 2020, in collaboration with the Central Public Works Department. The construction is progressing in three phases, with the first phase anticipated to be completed by June 2022.
