Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU), a prestigious Tamil Nadu-based institution, was established in 1990 by the State Government with the vision of promoting higher education and research excellence. A Legacy of Excellence

The university is named after the eminent Tamil poet and scholar Professor P. Sundaram Pillai (1855–1897), the author of Manonmaniam, a celebrated verse drama. His poem has been immortalized as the “Tamil Thaai Vazhthu,” the official invocation song of Tamil Nadu.
